From St Andrews Cathedral to Hamilton

By Kevin Hammons corrected version Dr. Peter Edwards obtained his first degree from the University of Memphis in Music Performance. Later he returned to school and became a psychiatrist, yet he never abandoned his playing. His love of music ended up taking him on a ministry journey that has lead him right here to a small church in Montana. Peter was led to Christ in his 20s by a Charismatic Catholic and he subsequently joined the Catholic Church. Following his musical passion and gifts, Peter ended up as an organist and the Choir Master for the St. Andrews Cathedral in Little Rock, Arkansas, the Diocese for the whole state. While serving there, he spearheaded the restoration of the Cathedral’s $400,000 organ in the 1990’s. During this time, Dr. Edward’s psychiatric career took him to the Department of Corrections in Arkansas. Although he was occasionally able to witness, working for the...

Submit or Triumph

by Mark Meckler and Rita Dunaway When Americans think of Montana, they think of “Big Sky Country.” They think of majestic mountains, rugged beauty—and citizens who have such a hunger for freedom and independence that they would gladly give up the luxuries of a more temperate climate or gentler terrain to experience the satisfaction of self-reliance and self-governance. While most Americans today still celebrate the concept of liberty, most neither appreciate nor enjoy freedom in the way envisioned by those who signed the Declaration of Independence at our nation’s founding. The revolutionary vision was a nation whose government would protect the natural, unalienable rights of the people, keep us safe from foreign and domestic enemies, and provide the most basic systems and structures necessary to an ordered society. But beyond that, our government was designed to leave us free to flourish. To prosper by means of hard work. To better...

The Mission

by Kevin Hammons Publisher August 25, 2017 The Mission To serve Christ by bringing His Word to our community. To serve our readers by bringing them the events and opinions of the day but also solutions for the problems plaguing our community – all grounded in the Word. To serve our advertisers by connecting them with readers who are interested in supporting friends of the Word. The Creed The Bible is the eternal, inerrant, and complete Word of God in written form. Serve Christ The service of Christ is the mission of all Christians, whether we always remember it or not. Being a written publication provides The Mountain a perfect opportunity to share God’s written Word with our communities, to fulfil the Great Commission, in a very real and tangible way, by joining our neighbors in their quiet moments and sharing with them the Gospel of Christ, or offering the...

Why “The Mountain”?

Micah 4 (KJV) 1 But in the last days it shall come to pass, that the mountain of the house of the Lord shall be established in the top of the mountains, and it shall be exalted above the hills; and people shall flow unto it. 2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. 3 And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more....

In Anticipation Of The Coming American Apocalypse, two Lawmakers Plan To Create ‘Christian Survivalist Centers’ In Rural Areas

By Michael Snyder April 6, 2017 A couple of lawmakers from South Carolina want to establish a network of self-sufficient communities in their state in preparation for “societal collapse”. In the long-term, they hope to “train and equip one million neighborhood leaders” that will be able to establish “a fresh beginning for America” in the aftermath of the great crisis that is coming. State Representatives Josiah Magnuson and Jonathon Hill are both relatively young, they were both home-schooled, and each of their fathers are pastors. They are calling their dream the “Virtue Solution Project”, and they are examples of a new breed of American politician that recognizes that the system is failing and that we desperately need to return to the values that this nation was founded upon. In the short-term, Magnuson and Hill hope that the centers that they are establishing will enable communities to be able to survive...

Interfaith Alert – Liberal Media Alert

Montana Media Favors ‘Celebrate Islam Week’ over ‘Creation Conference’ 13 to 2 in New Study St. Paul Lutheran Church Hosts ‘Celebrate Islam Week’ – In Nowhere Else Other Than Missoula Governor Bullock accused of being ‘Sharia-Compliant’ By Jesse Wanskasmith May 25, 2017 When the Lake Missoula Creation Conference came to Missoula, it was a big hit for the Christian community of Montana. The conference, an annual gathering of creation scientists and researchers started by Doug Miller in 2013, featured Ken Ham as this years keynote speaker. Interestingly, the Montana mainstream-media favored, in a welcoming tone, a much smaller interfaith-oriented organization called Standing Alongside America’s Muslims (SALAM), also in Missoula – 13 TO 2. The organization, operating with Emmaus Campus Ministries on the University of Montana in Missoula, organized the week-long event held at various locations in Missoula April 25-30. SALAM’s founder, Laurie Franklin, a spiritual leader and student rabbi at...

Perfect Doctrine and Flawless Deeds

By Kevin Hammons August 17, 2017 “‘By this, all will know that you are My disciples: your perfect doctrine and your flawless deeds.’” Oh wait! The Jesus didn’t say that. This is the right quote: “‘By this, all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.’” (John 14:35*) And more: “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.… Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up does not behave rudely, is not provoked…” (1 Cor 12:1-2,4-5*) In all candor, I must confess that...

Rights of Attorneys in Montana Under Fire

By Gregory Ammondson and Chris Tootell March  15, 2017 Recently, the American Bar Association, a non-profit Political Advocacy Group that greatly influences lawyers in America, made far reaching rule change. This particular rule is being pushed by Montana’s Supreme Court, and it could drastically alter the ability of lawyers to practice rights that are guaranteed by the First Amendment.   On February 20, the Senate Judiciary Committee of the Montana Legislature received public testimony on a resolution (SJ 015.)   This resolution urged the State Supreme Court to not adopt a newly modified American Bar Association (ABA) model rule called 8.4(g.) Basically, a lawyer could very well lose his or her license to practice law if he or she verbally or professionally violated rule 8.4g.   Opponents of the rule change say the content of the ABA rule would be unconstitutional under both Montana’s Constitution and the First Amendment of...

Islamic Group Warns Montana Legislature Over SB-97

By Gina Satterfield March 15, 2017 There are subversive religious, political, charitable organizations, foundations, and individuals that are responsible for being conduits for the foreign law of totalitarian control- and they are already here in Montana. Plenty of our politicians have taken orders or have been pursued and swayed by these subversives. It is my duty as a Montanan and U.S. Citizen to inform each and every one of our public servants so that you are aware, and to watch one another that you may recognize this sedition. It is time to flush our state and our country of the taqiyya (lies) and hear the facts. [1] Two organizations have deep pockets that need to be outed. The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) has over $300 million in offshore accounts. The Muslim Brotherhood has spent $5 million for Public Relations campaign to swoon our U.S. media and members of Congress...
